Lawn Mower Cutting Issue

I just purchased the Ego lawn mower and love the idea of just throwing in a battery and going. I have noticed I am not getting a very clean cut with many blades of grass not getting cut even when going over twice. It is mostly the very fine grass I see not getting cut. I did purchase the high lift blade and has helped a little bit still notice a lot of uncut blades or grass. Does not make lawn look good after mowing. I have sharpened the blade, but not sure what else to do to get a better cut??? Any ideas??<img

Hi Tim, what height setting are you cuttting at and which mower model are you using?

I have the LM2101. I have tried cutting heights 3-6 and all produce the same results.

I too am not getting a good cut on thick bermuda grass at the third level. It is not smooth and even. Got out my old Toro and even at half speed (bad carb) it cut much smoother. I too got the high lift blade. When using the Toro after a season of using the Ego I did notice it was alot and again I say alot heavier leading me to believe that due to the weight of the Ego and the fact that I don't think the Ego cuts at the high rpm of a gas powered mower along with heavy steel blades on the gas power mower that the Ego does not cut as smooth. My suggestion is to to somehow get a gas powered mower and mow some of the yard and see if there is a difference.
PS  The Ego does sometimes rev up to high rpm's but mostly not. I think that would make a difference on my yard if it always ran at high rpm's but that would significantly cut down battery power.

Here is a youtube video of a solution for the cut issues:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GPGK-WW9Luc
skip to about 6:50 to get right to it. Enjoy!

Thanks for the feedback. I have watched the video and I do feel like I am pulling up to keep the mower down. Seems like the lack of suction is part of the problem as well.

Edward, you can purchase replacement blades through Home Depot, Amazon, or any other Ego retailer.
