Since we use the grass collector on the mower, not mulch operation, is it OK if I save myself a spot of bother and put a trashbag inside the grass collector before attaching to the mower? I'm concerned that there's some need for air travel that this might preclude and essentially stop the grass flowing in, which would just turn it into a mulch operation. Of course I could just try it - and I will - but forewarned is forearmed, so...

Official Response
Yes, the air needs to be able to flow out of the bag.

In fact, it is a good idea to keep the bag clean to make sure air flow is not impeded.  Putting a plastic trash bag inside the mower bag will certainly impede on the mower's ability to bag properly and effectively.

What you want is something like a leaf bag holder if you want an easier way of emptying your clippings...:)
