I thought I heard EGO advertise that there was a spring sale on lawn mowers and additional equipment. If one purchased a blower, weed clipper, etc, they receive a 2.0 battery for free. Does this include Amazon? Who are authorized dealers?

The prices are more than what they were before the sale, what's that all about?

Which tool are you seeing a higher price on?

It is possible you are now seeing an updated kit that includes a 2.5Ah battery instead of one of the older kits that had a 2.0Ah battery. And there were some discounted clearance kits that either sold out or were discontinued online, but are no longer showing up as available. Or there may have been a price break on a particular tool that recently ended.

But I didn't notice any prices that went up exactly when the free battery promotion started.

At HD Canada they are including a free 2 ah battery with blowers, line trimmers and mowers. I am going to claim 3 for my earlier purchases. Nice deal.

I bought a blower at Home Depot and the new SP 21 mower online at Home Depot, both about 4 days ago. I took my paper work in and Hone Depot gave me two of the free batteries. For the blower it was easy, they just did a refund and repurchase. The online mower was difficult. They called HQ to find out how to do it, and they were told I would have to bring the mower in, send it back, and repurchase the kit online to get the free battery. The service rep at Home Depot then called the store manager, explained what was happening. He just gave me the battery and said that it would be stupid to have me bring it in and reorder, he said customer service was more important, and took down my info and a copy of my online receipt. I was very impressed, and now I have two backup batteries....

Troutboy's experience was different from mine. He was dealing with someone who knows how to get it done. My mower was already shipped when I discovered the additional free battery promotion. I called customer service and was told nothing they could do. I would have to return the mower and re-order the one with the SKU for the additional battery. I made three calls to customer service over two days. Everyone agreed that it didn't make sense to send it back, and that it would be better to credit me with the free battery, but it was not something they had the authority to do. So I returned mine and have another on the way. That's three 85-lb. freight trips (Calif-Ind, Ind-Calif, Calif-Ind) when one would have done. Obviously I am not the only customer who has had this experience and HD should have foreseen the situation and prepared for it. The answers I got from customer service came so quickly without further inquiry (there was no "Let me check with my supervisor") that it leads me to believe that HD was prepared and decided to handle it in the most impractical way. An additional eight day wait for my mower, but done is done. Nothing against EGO, of course.

Hello,

I am a prospective Ego 21" SP buyer and I am interested in this sale.  I just checked the link provided and if I bought the SP 21" version, I can get the deal online only, but if I have it shipped to my house it will cost me $55??  That is not such a good deal.

Does this mean you cannot go to a store and get this sale?  Confused.

Thank you!  No HD has the SP version in my area, so I guess I will have to ship to my store in order to get Free shipping, which is totally inconvenient.

Why does HD charge $55 to ship to home with this deal and Free Shipping without the deal?

I wasn't charged any shipping with the sale, it was free shipping. Hmmm

That is strange!  I wish someone could answer the question...Why the difference in shipping costs?

Mike, that sounds like something you'll have to take up with HD.
