Our 16inch saw came in yesterday. We are cutting up trees and branches today and the saw keeps on quitting (works great when it works! Awesome!). Seems the oil is not going to the chain. But there is oil. It IS Husqevarna oil and is a bit thick. Maybe it's cold? is the oil not good for my saw?
Can you elaborate on what you mean by quitting. Is the light on the battery flashing green/orange/red?
How's the temperature of the bar, especially near the tip? It will get warm to the touch, but should not be too hot to touch, which would indicate an oil feed problem.
One test to ensure you saw's oil is working is to run it under no load for 10-15 seconds, and put the end of the bar near something like a piece of paper or cardboard, there should be oil flying off the chain and being deposited on the paper/cardboard. After cleaning my saw, this is the test I perform to ensure the oiling system is working correctly. I also perform this test as start-up preparations.
