I was at sams club this week and saw this new Mowox 82 volt lawn mower. The battery and charger look very similar to the ego battery platform.

Looks like another Chinese competitor, Daye North America. They have partnerships with Murray, Husqvarna, among others.
Battery companies buy competitors batteries all the time to see what they can use or duplicate in their own designs. Maybe they liked EGO's Arc design? Agreed, though, the charger and battery have some similarities to EGO.

I seriously doubt it. Sam's Club is a WalMart division and most of their stuff is imported from China, where counterfeiting is rampant and quality is 3rd world.

Oregon Mike, I realize EGO is made in China; referring to counterfeit products as 3rd world quality. China is capable of quality, but the typical Chinese businessmen would cheat his grandmother if he thought he could profit from it. I can say that because I'm Chinese and know how they operate.

If this is a Wal-Mart brand there is zero chance it is on par with Ego. Zero. Wal-Mart is not in it to build a top quality outdoor brand.

Stihl, Echo, Husqvarna and maybe Green Works are Egos only true competitors....With the first three having great brand recognition but as of yet not up to par products generally.

Milwaukee has nice products but seems to me at least needs either to double up on their batteries or come out with a new voltage offering.

Their is no other product available from any other manufacture that can hang with the power head unit or really even their top end handheld blowers....be it gas or electric.

If they bring over their UK version hedge trimmer they will be number one in that category also.

So Walmart......Zero.

Ego seems to be poised to have repair parts available which will never happen with Wal-Mart branded products.

I have no inside information......but it just seems inevitable that as more pro shops carry Ego products basic repair parts will be available. The battery side of the ope market is kinda advertised as a "Green" alternative so making expensive equipment that you just throw away if it breaks I don't think would be a positive long term business model.
