I think the powerhead has significantly more power than the standalone.  2000 watts motor for powerhead and 1200 watts for standalone if I remember.  So if its power you want, you go with the powerhead.  I prefer the control, weight and balance of the standalone.  And yeah, the power string loading on the carbon version.  That rocks.

I’m thinking of having trimmer edger pole saw I already have mower and chain saw. Mower I think I need to get up lift blade and chain saw chain pops off a lot. I’m still thinking get the whole line of product. Even though I have decent gas equipment

Question is really is it less expensive to get the power head and attachments and do I lose any performance

You gain performance. The trimmer is waaaaaay overpowered. Like dangerously over powered. And yes probably less expensive by quite a bit. Not totally sure but the power is 2nd to none

Hi Pk,
I have both the PowerHead with trimmer & edger, and the basic 15" straight shaft trimmer.
I greatly prefer the PowerHead because it has more reserve power that I need for commercial work.

Since you already have batteries, if you can get the $129 price on the PowerHead
with edger attachment, and then add a trimmer attachment, that would be a great value.

Specs give the edge in power to the power head unit. Versatility is nice to have plus remember it has a variable speed trigger plus two power settings so if the power feels dangerous turn the setting to one.
