Hello I just picked up ST1521s trimmer from HD and I have a stupid question :)
How do I avoid hitting things in front of me with a string?
So far I managed to hit one of my downspout extensions and it started leaking.  So I need to replace that.
Also I hit Belgian blocks and my raised garden bed.  Is there a front guard available? or something else I can use?

thank you

Bryan is right,
Practice makes perfect, after 25 years I can zap little shoots off of the trunk of a tree without scratching the bark, eventually you just know where the end of the line is, and that is what you want to be cutting with primarily. It's an art-form.

In the meantime, just try to keep a reasonable distance away from such objects, and gradually trim closer as you become more proficient and confident, and be sure to always wear safety glasses.
