What I have doesnt match any of the videos on youtube for removing the spool.
The photo shows that I pushed the tabs and part came off but Im still not able to remove the rest.
My problem was the string not coming out and if you look closely the top loop of string is caught so it wont come loose.

Your link doesn't seem to be working. What model of string trimmer do you have?

Ah, ok you have the powerload model. No real reason to take it apart any further. Just remove all of the string and then put the cap back on. Follow the directions in the manual for how to load the string and wind it in.

In case you don't have the manual here's a link to it.

The top line appears to be stuck, should I be able to pull it loose with my hand?
as right now its very stuck compared to the bottom one that wants to unwind on its own.

Yes, if it's tangled you can just pull it loose.

Thank you for the help, I used pliers to pull it hard enough to come loose and then wound the strings back inside and put it back to together. I saved the manual you provided as well.

Manually push down on the head WHILE pulling on the line
