Great to see research and development is located in USA but hope you consider moving the manufacturing jobs back to USA - Let's Make America Great Again :) :) :)

Many companies have found that manufacturing in North America is actually cost effective when you look at the whole picture. It requires a very streamlined process and lots of automation, but it can be done.

The reality is, most things made here are assembled with imported components. But even having the final assembly done locally is a huge step forward.

This could help with the overall quality of the products that get to the end user too.

Quality control is not really a geographical thing anymore, it’s up to the company to manage the process properly. A lot of the most desirable consumer products are made in China these days. It pains me to say that but there’s no use denying the facts.

If a company has a poor grasp on managing their process and doing adequate Quality Control, they can successfully make garbage no matter where the product is manufactured.

Blue, in my working career I was responsible for maintenance on equipment from many manufacturers. Chinese branded equipment built in China always was hit or miss. What I mean is the companies didn't seem to be beholden to the sorts of sense of quality present in the US so the Chinese companies ship everything whether it's good or not. It always seemed when I'd call for tech assistance I'd hear they knew of the problem but shipped anyway just in case this one worked. Really odd business choice. That's sort of what I was getting at about if things could be controlled in America the shipments of known bad products might go down. Emphasis on "might" and "could" from my previous post. Hope that clarifies my earlier statement.

They have R&D worldwide. Do we know if EGO R&D is in the US? I think the tools have always been made in China so nothing to bring back, I believe. Someone correct me if I'm wrong about that.

Their headquarters is in Chicago. A lot of the design is done there from what I understand.

You are correct in past blogs it is China, it’s automations, and cheap labor. With what was said about manufacturing in the US will drive up cost being manufactured by American hands. Don’t see them moving, but probably will have to still pay for that 35% import tax when fair trade deals fail between US and China

Just finished using the EGO self propelled 21" and I must say I'm impressed. I live in south western PA and have a 1/3 acre yard with gradual slopes and the mower did a great job - good power and light enough where I did not have to use the self propelled all of the time. 60 minutes to cut the grass and the battery still had 25% power left. Will see how she does for the long run but for now I'm glad I made the purchase. MAGA lets get those jobs back :) :) :) Everyone have a great weekend and enjoyed reading your replies.

If they did that, then the tools would be an extra 50% in cost.(random number).

Then who would buy them? Probably no one.

Who said America isn't great?

Skru that stupid political slogan - it's been baloney from the gate.

Travel around the world a bit and you'll realize what I'm saying is very true.

They can’t move the manufacturing jobs “back” to the U.S. because they were never here to begin with. Ego’s parent company is Chinese and they have always manufactured their products in China.
