Has anyone tried any of the Honda VersAttach attachments with the EGO Power Head System?  The connections look very similar to me.

Wow, they do look very similar!  The large square hole for Ego's "catch" seems to be the replacement for the smaller hole in the Honda design.

Just as interesting; I wonder if the hanging clip of the Honda would work on the Ego attachments since there's no way to hang them?

And here's the spline from the Honda design:

I'd say it might be worth a try, even though it's pretty obvious the locking catch won't work!

I ordered one of the Honda attachments so I can take a look at it close up and personal.  I ordered it from Home Depot, so I can easily return it if this is a no-go.

Nice move Rich!

BTW, is that an EB C5ZO6 in your avatar pic?

Yes it is.  But how the heck can you tell from that little avatar?  Not to mention that it's a custom 427 engine in that engine bay.  You must have the eyes of an eagle.

Next question: is it an '02 or an '03? :-D

I have an '02 Z in Electron Blue, the best color! Looks pretty much the same minus the FAST intake (and 427 guts). There's a little sliver of your left headlight cover visible, that gave away the color. ;-)

Yeah, mine is an '02 as well.  I spent some time playing around with wet sanding and got the paint in really nice shape, but eventually I will need to get the car painted.  I've got an original tigershark front bumper sitting on the shelf that I will likely have installed before the paint job.

Man, you must have looked CLOSE at that picture!

BTW, if you ever have an urge to read a REAL saga about doing major mods on a car, make up a couple of big bowls of popcorn and take a read at this thread about my car -> http://www.corvetteflorida.com/forums/showthread.php?t=44697

After that, you will probably understand why I am so hard headed enough about doing whatever needs to be done to get what I want.  NEVER GIVE UP. NEVER SURRENDER. :)

WOW... what an ordeal!  Hopefully the car has been trouble-free for a while now!  I didn't read every page but I skimmed through to the end.

It's been AGES since I've had my LG Pros off the car, but if I remember right I think the driver's side goes in easily from the top with the alternator out.  Don't quote me on that, though, it's been a while.

I had a few hiccups with mine as well.  I lost a stock valve spring (fairly common issue) but the motor survived (LUCKY!!!).  Put stiffer valve springs in, then I toasted the cam.  I rebuilt the top end with a new cam and it's been great since.

I bought it in '04 from a shop in Rochester NY and brought it home to Ontario.  No regrets!  I bought it when I was 27 years old and I've had so much fun with it I can't even begin to share.  It's got about 130k miles on it now and I plan to keep it for a long time yet.

Kudos on your car, it's a beast and a real victory!  :-)

And the answer to the original question about the VersAttach system compatibility, is.... NOPE.  The shaft on the VersAttach items is slightly larger than that of the GO system, so they will not connect together.  Don't even know about the splines themselves, as I can't put the shaft into the EGO coupler to be able to check.  Too bad.  Had that at least work, I was planning on buying the 2 ft. long extension sold by Honda, and modify the locking hole into a square shape to use it as an adapter between the two systems.

Oh well.  Back to Home Depot with that Honda accessory. Too bad all these companies don't want to play well together.

Worth a try... thanks for checking it out!
