Last year I returned LM2102 because I noticed it left some grass uncut. Does the high lift blade help with this ? It’s 499 right now and am wondering if the 250 more is worth it for the steel mower to prevent this issue or if the high lift blade is a good solution.

Re the HL blade...
Depends on type of grass, thickness of grass, mowing frequency, bagging or mulching.
Some like bloomz find it to be a great improvement. Others like myself have gotten better results with the standard blade.
Can't comment on the difference the steel deck makes.

Szwoopp - What kind of grass do you have?
It would be helpful if grass type, state and hardiness zone was on the ID line after the number of points.
Signed - Sibyl (Centipede & St. Augustine, FL, Zone 8b) :8->
PS - Hi Brave Ego Champions!
Down here in the Tropic of Humidity, we are already cranked up on high with an early tropical system! Free Steam Heat!!!

Hi SibylBluegrass Fescue mix, West Chicago, Zone 5b
I generally do not share my hardiness zone with others, but will make an exception because you asked nicely :)

They claim they’re coming out with another bigger steel deck mower, but no announcement yet.

I wonder if she’s referring to the dual battery 21” or something else? Her comment is a ways down the conversation.

I would assume she was responding to the title of my post and addressed me by name in the comment, guess we’ll have to see if she responds.

I have thick St Augustine, and I catch my grass. This blade should come standard in the box when purchasing a Ego mower.

Are there any other mower brands that come with multiple blades in the box? I'm not aware of any.

Honda already puts two blades on the mower itself. Maybe that's the solution.

I have gotten mixed results with the HL blade. It seems like it works good on the flat surface. My front yard is pretty flat however my backyard is not as flat. I am not sure If I got a defective mower or not. But I am not happy with the results with the HL blade either.
Here are few pictures for you to judge. Click on the link (It doesn't let me upload picture more than 2mb here). Thanks.

Wondering how much grass you are trying to cut off at once? Meaning an inch, maybe more? Also, looks like the grass catcher bag was packed full to the point where it couldn't hold any more grass. Your yard looks quite similar to mine and I keep mine mowed around height setting 3. I have the original blade and the 21" non-sp mower. I keep the blade sharp and it cuts and bags great. Only time I start to see grass getting left behind is when the bag gets full.

I am trying to cut off about 1" - 1(1/2)". I presume this shouldn't be a big deal for the mower.
Sorry, I should have mentioned this before. Yes, I have emptied the bag few times. The picture you see is of the front yard mowed. Where I didn't empty the bag till it got full and It still didn't leave any mulch left behind. But In the backyard, I was emptying the bag every few passes so it was never full. And It still left the mulch behind.
