Hi lift blade and loss of self propel speed control

I recently bought and installed the hi lift blade for my ego LM2100SP to help with pickup of Fall leaves. With this blade, the cutting and bagging have been great but I have lost control of the self propel speed - it stays at the fastest speed until the battery is close to needing recharge. Changing the speed control lever doesn’t slow the speed at all. I am basically stuck at high speed for most of the mowing. I haven’t yet switched back to the original blade to check the speed lever as I just got it back from sharpening. Any help and recommendations will be greatly appreciated.

I can not imagine the 2 are connected.  Merely coincidental. Sounds like your speed control is faulty and in need of repair.
Give Ego customer service a call to arrange for a warranty repair.

That is a problem that more than a couple of us have experienced AND it has nothing to do with the blade.  EGO replaced the speed harness and controller on mine last Fall when it had that problem.  I think it may have something to do with the cable being repeatedly bent when extending or closing the the handle assembly.

Perhaps folding the mower to set it up on it's back to replace the blade was what caused the speed control to fail, but other than that, the two should be unrelated.
