Hands-on review of Backpack Blower

Great product, with very little to be left wanting. Could still use an industry standard feature or two though.

First off, the blower itself is hard to beat for ease of use, power, comfort and practicality. I'm now able to mow my yard with a single 7.5aH battery. 60% of it goes to mowing worth power left over for cleanup.

The blower has a lot of great features, including a fully adjustable harness for almost any body type (including "well rounded" individuals such as myself). Furthermore, offsetting the back pressure to the hips make usage very easy even at high levels (though this is just for comfort as the unit itself is very light). The adjustments in the arm can accommodate the height of a good majority of users, which is nice. The range is terrific for almost every job, too. I can clear my lawn them go back and push loose stuff into piles with ease (without overshooting), all just by adjusting the throttle. And, as it goes without saying, not dealing with fuel mixtures is a huge bonus.

As for down side, I wish it had a throttle lock like my Stihl had. For now, I'm having to hold the trigger for the full duration. Not a deal breaker, but a convenience I'm used to. The turbo button is also a bit awkward to get to, thought I'm not sure how else they could have configured it. Finally, I wish there was an attachment for a more focused output to tackle a acorns, flowers, rocks and getting between planks on deck.

As a general aside, and I can't pinpoint it, but the range of motion is a bit off as compared to my stihl. I don't know if it's because the arm placement (as compared to my stihl), but some pivoting feels awkward. Blowing to my right appears more alien than I'm used to. I can't explain it, but may just be a matter of getting used to.

All things considered, I'm very pleased and would buy another if I needed to. The unit is solid, does a terrific job, and is a great addition to my lawn arsenal.
