There is a mower handle height release on the left side of the machine, squeeze the top of the release operator lever and move the main mower handle to its lowest position. If it is all the way down, you cannot lower it any further. You can see if the main handle is all the way down as it will be resting on/near the mower housing itself.

If you have the mower handle set to the lowest of the two (20" model) or three (21" model) settings, that's as low as it goes.

My understanding is the new 21" mower handle in its lowest setting is a bit lower than the 20" model.

Hi Patti, there are two handle height settings on the original 20" mower, with the higher one being equivalent to my old gas Honda mower. The lower setting is far too low for me.

The new 21" mower adds a third handle height setting. I was hoping this would have meant a slightly higher top height setting, but sadly the two top and middle height is identical to the settings on the original mower. So the third setting is even lower than the low setting, which was already too low for me.

I would describe the three settings on the 21" as average, low, and munchkin. The lowest height setting literally makes the mower comfortable to hold in a kneeling position. It has to be the lowest handle height of any mower on the market, or very close.

If the 20" height isn't low enough for you then try the 21" model. If the 21" isn't low enough for you, try stilts.
