Yes, definitely not a good battery. Here are the details for EGO's customer service line. As mentioned, call early in the day to avoid hold times. Note that if you've had it less than 90 days you can return it to HD. I think unless it's part of a kit then you won't be able to return it by itself. I think people who've called EGO CS have had a new battery sent to them from EGO. EGO might want you to return the blinking one, but I'm not sure what they will have you do with it.
