Vid on YT looks so simple - just attach the bag to the frame with the clips -- on my bag, clips are PERMANENTLY CLOSED and cannot be opened to go over the frame -- also NO u-shaped device either -- I can live without that, but not without attaching the bag - will get clothespins to attach - have been mulching but now too many weeds with seeds, need to catch and dispose so no regeneration for next year

How long have you owned the mower, and which mower do you have?

I'm unclear on several points. I assume by "u-shaped device" I take you to mean the mulching plug. If you've been mulching up until now, you must have it. If you haven't been using the mulching plug, have you checked the box the mower came in? People have been known to overlook it among all the various cardboard packaging inserts.

I also don't understand about the bag clips being permanently closed. On mine they're just strips of plastic that clip over the frame. They don't really open or close.

I talked to customer service by phone.  Am going to Home Depot for help.  Hard rubber clips won't open to get onto the frame.  She said maybe it's because they have never been used/opened.  In any case, I can't do it myself.
I tried to delete this question but it's still here.  You can delete it since I can't.
