I Haven't Had ANY Grass Buildup! :-)

I have used my mower 17 weeks in a row and have not cleaned the underside of the mower deck. I only cut when the grass (St Augustine) is dry, always bag, and cut at a mower height of 4. As you see, there is a dry green film on a portion of the deck but there is no significant buildup on the underside.

That's pretty cool. Another reason to always cut dry grass. I hope I get the same results mulching :)

I get a little buildup but nothing crazy, and mostly because of the high percentage of weeds I cut relative to grass.  Them weeds are juicy.

My grass is by a stream so its always dewey in the morning and at night when i mow. So i have lots of buildup. Sorry i meant weeds. I dont have grass. And yes. They are of the juicy type.

I'm still thinking about spraying my deck with graphite lubricant next time I clean it.

I have very damp grass most of the cutting season and the buildup is bad,  I have to stop continually to scrape the grass away or it drops on the ground when I cut. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
