I am left not knowing where or who to turn to.  Homedepot online is the only option to get the 16" chainsaw here in Canada.  I paid my money and then the problems started.  They said it shipped but the issued tracking number was invalid.  I called Homedepot back and got the run around for a couple of weeks until a 3rd party courier showed up with a damaged box saying they were delivering for Homedepot.  The box did have a chainsaw inside, but sadly had a collection of rocks instead of a battery.

Tried calling EGO to try and figure out how I could even get the unit properly checked out at a service center but after being on hold for 15 minutes the rep on the phone said "it's covered by a warranty so just use it".

Guess I have to go with a "REAL" name brand chainsaw, as I don't have very much confidence left with this one.

Ego IS a "real" name brand, and the chain saw was recently named the best in its class by a tool review website.

You can hardly blame Ego for Home Depot's shipping problem. Clearly if the box was damaged and there were rocks in the box someone opened it and stole the battery.

If I were you I'd take it back to the store, show them the problem and demand a replacement. They'll likely refund your money on that purchase and reorder it for you right there.
