I am totally Impressed & I don't actually impress easily. The one issue was wheel lock-up when you disengage the self propelled function. A quick read of the manual explains this is normal. All you have to do is disengage a touch sooner & push it the last second & your all set. Should have read the manual first, kinda like they suggest. Duh! As for the free battery. I bought my mower on-line & the second batter didn't come with the mower as I expected. A quick call to HD & it is on it's way. I expect to have it Monday. I am a little disappointed that the free battery is only 2 Ah when the mower comes with a 7.5 Ah battery. I'm guessing it wont get much use in the mower, but i will have a spare for the leaf-blower I bought last year. PS: I love it too.

Thanks for the great feedback, Ed!

I wouldn't be surprised if Ego is phasing out the 2Ah battery, and this deal was to facilitate that. Even some of the kits that include the 2Ah battery appear to be out of stock, and likely not to be replaced.

The 2.0 Ah battery is not meant to be used with the mower. More likely with trimmer or edger (IMHO)

The 2.0Ah batteries will work in the mower, I've used them in my 20" mower and they work fine.

If you are cutting very thick/wet/overgrown grass the mower will go into overload slightly quicker with the smaller battery, but for normal mowing it works great.

Sorry, I didn't explain well. I'm not saying that the 2.0 battery isn't going to work with mower. IT DOES. What I meant is that it won't last as long as it lasts on a smaller tool. I have a 1-acre land so maybe my opinion is bias for the bigger batteries. If the 2.0 does what you need, go for it :)

Absolutely, Julio! Yes, I have a small lawn and the 2Ah battery has just eniugh juice to finish it, about 22-23 minutes or so. I can usually cut twice using one charge on the 4Ah battery.

As you say, bigger batteries for bigger jobs. :-)
