Used to be thrilled with EGO products and their warranty, but not so much anymore! I've purchased 2 push mowers, three handheld blowers (extra as presents or hand me downs when upgraded. For the price they charge for a battery, I found I can spend $20 - $50 more and buy a product that comes with a battery.), a backpack blower, chain saw, hedge trimmer, and weed wacker. When my first push mower went out in the second season, EGO sent me a new one; greatest company in the world, right! Then I had a 2 amp battery go out; same thing, mailed me a new one, love this company.. Not that service anymore! Earlier this year my 4 amp lawn mower battery quit charging. Although the box boost a 5 year warranty, when I called it's three yrs on the batteries. (Not on box) I was 3 years and 1 week. I was told nothing they could do. With Home Depot's price at $200 for the 4 amp, I asked could they discount the battery since was only 1 week out of warranty. The service guy said he was writing a ticket and someone would contact me with an answer. There was no response. Then my self propelled mower quit on me in second season of owning; yellow light blinks, no start. Purchased 4/29/16. Wrote an online problem ticket (Case 00139435) After hearing nothing I checked my case and said case closed. I called and after 1/2 hr or so on hold a service tech told me I needed to bring to Home Depot rental center; which I did. The Home Depot rep looked at me like I was crazy and said they don't repair EGO, so I toted it home. Called EGO customer support and they just gave me other Home Depot addresses to bring to. (One across river and one 60 miles away in Baton Rouge) Needless to say, been frustrated and wished I never gave away my Toro.. May have to spring for a new one. As a last note: my 7.5 amp battery that came with the self propelled I bought last year is only lasting about 15 mins in my push mower. Figured I'll watch for the 3 year time limit this time.

Not good! Hopefully EGO responds to this post soon. Doesn't give us new buyers confidence in product support or durability.

Official Response
We're sorry you've had such a difficult experience, Steve! We contacted The Home Depot earlier today for an update and they did not have any record of you by name or phone number. Is your mower possibly with them under a different name? One of our service team members tried calling you this morning and left a voicemail. We want to help make this right and resolve this as quickly as possible, so please return the call at your earliest convenience.

Steve, you have to take EGO items to a HD RENTAL department.  From there, it gets sent out.  Whatever it is, can take months before it is returned for you to pick up.  Buy another new unit, use it while yours is out for repair.  Get a full refund on that replacement unit before the refundable time-frame expires!  If your item still isn't fixed, do it again.  thats the only practical way to deal with the long turn around times for repairs.  Grass waits for no one.
