56-Volt Brush-less Ice Auger with the 56V interchangeable batteries would be excellent. Any thoughts? Power and run time would be great.

Jared, this request usually comes up a few times at this time of year. You’re not the first to request this... wouldn’t it be nice not to need gasoline for an auger on the lake? :-)

Ego could probably add an ice auger attachment to the Multi-Tool line-up.  If needed, it could be gear driven (reduced) to increase the torque required.  Or there is this universal setup to adapt a drill:

Actually looks like somebody already beat Ego to the game with a 40V offering:

3A and 5A, so 120W and 200W batteries.

Already did this (a)TE, but now I have yet another set of batteries, chargers, etc. I am officially 2 stroke free which was my goal. If this is developed, make sure it has 1200lbs of torque. You only need to develop the powerhead....... there are a ton of auger attachments already available.

Brushless power head for Ice Fishing Auger. You wouldn't even need to make the flights and cutting blades which would allow anglers to choose from many available in the market.

Yes. I have a gas one. Besides my generator, it's the only gas tool I own. I dislike it alot. It's on my build list, but wife says "work on the house"I!

Count me in! I’m enjoying using the snowblower to clear a path to the river. Now I just need to be able to pop the batteries into an auger power head when I get there!

Yes please! I would be first in line to purchase an Ego ice auger.. I think they would crush Ion who is already making battery augers. Come on Ego! Let's go fishing..

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Power Auger? Any plans to make one?.

Does EGO have any plans to make an auger? That would be pretty nice for ice fishing, it’s good to have batteries with multiple uses.

Given that the batteries don't do well when stored in the cold...I've often wondered the practicality of a battery powered auger on the lake. I suppose it's doable if you have a heated ice fishing house with generator.  I know some of EGO's competition makes them...but has anyone had real world  experience with them?

All tool companies basically use the same battery cell technologies. Companies like Milwaukee claim their tools operate well down to 0°F, so I don’t see why Ego’s batteries wouldn’t perform equally well.

What Ego does recommend is not storing the batteries below freezing for long periods of time.
