Full Conversion - No More Gas

I was undecided to put $ into my 17 year old gas mower or get a new one. I'd been watching the progression of battery powered mowers for a couple of years. Then HD had a sale on the EGO 21" SF mower and later on several other EGO yard tools.

I first bought the mower and used it once and then the ad came out for $50 off the other tools. I bought the string trimmer, backpack blower, and hedge trimmer. Yesterday I used them all starting with mowing at about 9AM. The grass was pretty damp it just rained the previous day but we had things to do in the afternoon.

I used the same 7.5AHr battery for mowing, blowing, trimming, and hedge clipping! My lot is 1/4 acre but we have a big garden and landscaping:

Mower - I freshly sharpened the blade on the mower and the lawn looked great. Mulched it and no clumps. With this second cutting  I'm so pleased I've decided to sell my Honda Harmony mower.

String Trimmer - this has a bigger swing than my gas trimmer did and seems more powerful. Think I need some more practice because this thing we throwing rocks around that I didn't know I had. In this case I like my gas trimmer better but think it's just a matter of time to get use to this one.

Blower - I didn't like the backpack blower. It was heavy, difficult to adjust, not as free of motion as a handheld, and takes up lots of space to store. Might be right for a large lawn filled with leaves. I ended up returning it and getting the handheld model and love it. Light weight, quiet, "boost" mode, and easy to store.

Hedge Trimmer - Another winner. Light, well balanced, and every bit as powerful as my old gas model.

Official Response
Congratulations on your new purchases and thanks for posting your results with us.  Of all the tools you've mentioned, the 15" trimmer has been my favorite tool - powerful and light.  As to the hedge trimmer, I also put it to the test last week with great results - very satisfied!  It's nice not to have to worry about dealing with gas and yearly maintenance ... :-)
