Free side discharge chute for registering

Since the small flyer included with the mower promises a free side-discharge chute for registering online, wouldn't it make sense to allow entering the address to send the chute during or after the registration process online? Instead, I had to call customer service and wait over 20 minutes to speak to a rep to accomplish that. High-tech mower, low-tech service.

Does anyone really use that thing.  Side chutes are so 1970's.   :)

Agreed, but as Ego found out, if it's offered as a free accessory people will want it regardless. If it was offered as an optional accessory at a small cost, I bet 90% of the demand would drop immediately. ;-)

I don't use them often but when grass hasn't been cut while I'm away, it helps to make two cuts, one a little higher than normal thru side discharge, then mulch at desired height so you don't get big clumps of grass from the mulcher.

I don't have a 21" mower so I've never gone through the process. If it works as you describe, absolutely it should make sense to enter your information "while you're there".

Implementing that would also reduce the number of people calling in to CS and help with those hold times as well.

Do know that Ego is now including the chute with the mower, so changing the process might not be worth the effort at this point. Still, you'd think it would be a very simple thing to do?

The chute was included with my 20" mower.   I could see using it under some circumstances.

We all agree that this whole deal is an annoyance for EGO and the Consumers.  Whoever came up with this idea of not just putting it in the box should be put in an office with 10 phone lines dedicated to handling these requests.

I just purchased one and the little flyer is in saying to register to get a free side discharge chute unit. The lawnmower as a date of october 2016 on it.
So I guess I will have to go to the Customer Support process to get that. :(

Just make sure one was not included in the box.  There was a report from the Ego reps that some units shipped with the chute and still had the flyer.   

Do note that Ego's customer service will be closed on Memorial Day.

Nope I do not see one, only the lawnmower, battery, charger, bag with frame and user's manuals.

I just sent an email to customer support. I will wait from there.
