Fluid Discharge from New Battery

I recently made a purchase of EGO 21" Mower. I charged battery as explained in owners manual. Once charging was completed I removed battery from charger and laid the battery down. After a few days, I noticed a fluid discharge coming from a small hole in the battery (see picture for hole). Part of the fluid had dried and was sticky the other, which was still liquid, was like an oily substance and a yellow or golden color.

My questions:

Is there some kind of lubricant in the battery housing or is this most likely from the battery cells?

What is best approach for replacement? Do I need to return entire mower (to Home Depot)?

I have 5 EGO batteries from 2.5 - 7.5 Ah and none ever leaked any substance. Your batteries are under 3 year warranty and you should ask Home Depot whether you need to exchange the entire purchase or just the batteries. Call them first to possibly save a bit of effort.

I think you and I may be the only people who this has
Happened to. Make sure you have registered the battery and submitted the receipt. As well as within 3 year of date of purchase and they will replace it.
