Finally Got to Try out my Snowblower

I finally had the opportunity to test my EGO Power Plus Snowblower today in 2-3 inches of heavy, wet, Staten Island, NY snow. I have the model with 2 5.0 amp hour batteries. Two observations. Firstly, it takes a bit more effort to push this machine through the snow as compared to my 5 HP Toro. I attribute that to the fact that the paddles are slightly smaller than similar gas powered machines. The gas powered machines sort of pull themselves along because the paddles are literally dragging themselves along the ground. Of course that leads to increased paddle wear and probably would lead to decreased battery life if this machine was designed the same way. On this machine, its exclusively the scraper blade that feeds the snow to be thrown into the paddles. Also, because the paddles are not assisting in pulling the machine along, its a bit more sensitive to irregularities in the pavement. All in all it does take a bit more effort to push it along BUT...in my humble opinion...that is a small price to pay for the effortless start up and convenience of a battery powered device. The machine is super powerful, and I was able to clear 6 12 x 25 driveways and appx 420 linear feet of sidewalk...at full speed...before I ran out of power. Highly recommended!

Thanks for sharing Peter!  That's an impressive amount of work on a charge!
