Father’s Day mower fell flat due to streaks in cut

Brand new mower and first cut was disappointing. Mowed on setting four which was matched to the height of my old gas craftsman. The mower ran a full 50 min but left a steaming cut with uncut grass.

I was disappointed since all reviews ranked this mower the best battery mower. I have a weed eater and attachments on the way , I’m debating on taking it back and getting the kobalt 80v or going back to gas

Stick with it. It is a great mower. The forum here is full of tips to tweak the performance. First, did it mow at all? are you sure you had the blades spinning. You have to push the button while the bail wire is lifted. If it is spinning, sharpen the blade. For some reason some come with a less than honed blade. Also, try passing slower and over lap your cuts a bit. Always mow across the yard not in circles. Don't match the height to your old mower, match it to your grass. If the grass is very long or lush go up a notch or two the first couple of mows then reduce until it is knocked down to the height you want. I'm sure others will have more suggestions. It is a Wonderful Father's Day gift!

Get a high lift blade and repeat your mowing.  See if that fixes your complaint.  It did mine.
