Failure of warranty for my mower which bought on May this year

I Bought my 21" self propelled on 12 May 2017 from home depot, the mower stopped working just after 3 months. I brought to home depot and they gave me the service number, went to the certified Ego repair shop, they said that I need to pay $75, then they start to check the problem. The repair store said they saw some water around the mower, then this mower is not warrantied. I said I just used it normally once a week or two weeks to cut my back yard. It doesn't make any sense that I fill the water into the mower. I felt so bad and there is no way to solve the problem. They even didn't check the mower before you pay.
I was trying to call the Ego service center, they just simply called the repair store and told me your mower is not warrantied. I checked the warranty manual, I am certain there is no "immersion in water". 
Why the company treated their customer like this, feel so so so bad...
