Our weather conditions in the Chicago area have created unbelievable grass growing conditions. On my last mow I must has cut 2-1/2”. My neighbors grass was just as long as mine and he cut his a couple hours before I did. We both mulch. My lawn is on the left ( or bottom if using mobile).

Agree with the Chicago grass conditions. It is a jungle (rain forest) out there.  My 21" SP mower has been doing a great job.  It was so long and wet I did switch to the HL blade and bagged a couple mows ago.  Otherwise mulching with the stock blade at height 3.
What mower, blade and height are you using Michael.

Years ago I would bag quite often with my Honda mulcher because it would leave clumps if the grass was too long or wet. My youngest son hated to cut the lawn unless I let him mulch so I've mulched exclusively since his request several years ago.

Last year it was pretty dry in our area and I only used height setting #3. The mowing in the picture was on #5 with the standard blade (I used the high lift blade once and that was enough). I'll probably cut it on #4 next mowing. I've mentioned this before but I always mow in CCW direction and seldom if ever leave clumps on the lawn.

With all the rain and cooler than normal temperatures have my lawn looks better than ever. Only negative is I notice the battery life is lower with the thick/full turf - small price to pay for a great looking lawn.
