Greenworks has a 12.5Ah, 900Wh one. Husqvarna's 26.1Ah, 36V backpack is 939.6Wh

Interesting, looks like those are intended for the Swedish market. I wonder if the same system will be released here? That would be great!!!

There have been Ego tools exclusively for the Euro market before, hopefully that's not the case this time!

Well, I don't want to go all the way to Sweden to get tools like this, even though it's tempting.

I am pleased to confirm that this multi tool will also be available in North America next spring. Pricing and exact date of availability are still under wraps for now. Be on the lookout for sneak peeks from some of our blogger friends like Tools in Action in the coming weeks. This multi tool will feature interchangeable heads including: an edger, brush cutter, hedge trimmer, pole saw and a string trimmer.

OH YEAH!!! Last year all I wanted was a snow blower and a pole saw. I have a super snow blower, better than I thought possible and now a pole saw that is a multi-tool. This is seriously better than I could have asked. I committed at the beginning of the spring to the 21"SP and have been lucky enough to build up the entire line. My lawn, the leaves, the trees, and the snow have been a much more pleasant experience. I am SO psyched to get the multi tool. Damn, I would have been happy with just a pole saw!

I just purchased a Greenworks GMAX 40V pole saw a few weeks ago from Amazon, but have yet to try it out. If I had known about the new EGO product, I would've waited. I'm thinking about returning it.

All I really need is the pole saw. although that edger could come in handy as well. Looks like it'll be in the higher price range than I'd want to pay since it is multi-tool.Just wondering EGO multi-tool will work with all other EGO batteries.

Yes all batteries work with all tools.
I would return it if I was you.
Ego has great products and maybe a hiccup here and there but they always stand by their products.

I've been so psyched since the pole saw was announced. I seriously hedged my bets, waited over the summer, and now it's coming. Life rarely works out (watch some branches hit my roof today). Anyway, it is usually me that buys something and then the next day a better version comes out (hint EGO blower-ha).

Can't tell if  the pole extends and how heavy it will be for tree trimming. I'm only 5' 3".

Hi Sue, the pole will not extend. It's one piece. I don't have the weights quite yet.

Will this work with existing attachments for gas motorheads? i.e. http://www.homedepot.com/p/TrimmerPlus-Add-On-22-in-Articulating-Hedge-Trimmer-Attachment-AH721/2057...

Or will it be proprietary?

I bought the 31" extension to determine that; unfortunately, the new Multi-Tool _IS_ proprietary, and will NOT work with the existing universal attachment tool system.  Ego went with a spline drive setup vs. the square drive.  I'm working on a technical review of the 31" extension, I'll try and post it this weekend.

I noticed that also. It's not the twisted wire flex drive shaft you find in most of the powerhead tools. It's a solid shaft with a splined end.

Of course the multi tool is coming out now that I sold all my gas stuff and bought the 15" split shaft trimmer. Not sure why EGO didn't release this years ago.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Multi-tool release and new items.

Any final release date for the Multi-tool? Also with Ryobi taking the plunge with a riding mower, will ego be working on one soon?
