Ego Mower Rear Rubber Flap Broken

The rear rubber drag flap on my 5 month old Ego mower just snapped off on one side. The flap is only held by one small screw on either side- a very flimsy design to say the least. Is this covered under warranty, and how would I go about getting it fixed. If I were to do this myself, it looks as though the rear wheels have to be removed in order to get to where the the flap is mounted. How do you remove the wheels.

I know the trailing shield is available as a replacement part. Whether it will be replaced under warranty, I don't know. I haven't read any complaints here of it breaking. Call customer service and they'll fix you up one way or another: 1-855-EGO-5656 (1-855-346-5656) from 8:30AM - 8:00PM EST (Monday - Friday) & 10:00AM - 6:00PM EST (Saturday & Sunday).

Thanks for the help.  It looks like the wheels have to be popped off in order to access the screws to remove the flap and insert the rod. How to you remove those?

My rubber flap broke also, i removed it, but had to remove the rear wheel assembly. (not a big deal)  i called EGO, they created a case and that it is covered under warranty.  unfortunately, they were out of stock, so they just closed the case.  i still have not received the part (3 months).

So much for customer service!

To be honest, i did not call them back, i assumed it was on back-order and it would come when it was in stock.  I didn't sit and stew, i used the mower, and after vacations etc, did go back on line only to find out the case was closed.  I then reached out to them.

What did you find out after you reached out to them again?

its in stock and being shipped, the problem is why did they close the case and require me to call back.  its a poor process at best.

Yeah, I've seen that mentioned before on this forum. It's hard to know why EGO closes cases prematurely. I know in some call centers, CS agents are graded on how quickly they close cases so maybe that's behind it. Just a guess.
Definitely better to make a note in the case and flag the case for follow up.
