EGO instills guilt!

I love my ST1502SF  15 inch string trimmer so much that I feel guilty every time I go into my son's garage and see the old hand me down Troy Built gas trimmer I bestowed on him. With the trimmer kit on sale this week at Home Depot, $149, I just bought my son one.  I don't see that parental guilt extending to a mower however.

Give it until the next sale, and you'll cave... =)

I had a similar issue, actually I got tired of lugging my 15" trimmer over there, so I "staged" one over there.  And when the 530cfm blower dropped to $99, I added it to the staging cache.  If I ever get a new mower, my 20" frankenmower is going there too.

Egocentric, what you should feel guilty about now is starting an Ego addition with your son... you've just doomed him into replacing all of his sub-standard tools!

He has an amazing tolerance for using junk when he is footing the bill.  I mentioned the sale to him several times.  "That's nice dad."  If he gets any more Ego tools, I have a pretty good idea who will be paying for them.

gotta admit the trimmer is awesome.  as is the blower.  the CS and mower, not so much IMO.  the hedge trimmer has issues too, but Ego "made me whole" on that issue.

I have to disagree with you on the chain saw.  It is my favorite Ego tool.  But then again what I know about chain saws you could lose in a thimble.  It is the only saw I have ever used that didn't scare me to death...and that may be a problem.

The mower I am pleased with but all I have is weeds.  It knocks them down fine.  The blower is awesome.  I am hoping it will work on the light nuisance snows we get here in the winter.

I gave the trimmer to my son today.  He loves it.  He was very impressed with the trimmer and my 575 CFM blower.  That one he is on his own.

Thank you for the compliment.  On that gift thing, let's see:  Ego string, shoulder strap, replacement bump head.  That should get me through 3 years.

Good luck, your son might see all that as one gift ... :-)

Well he is quite skilled at picking my pocket, so you may be right.

I am right there with you, my son is 14 now and he's already wearing my tie collections. Soon my shirts will be missing from my closet too ...

Mine is 34.  Can't help him with ties, I have grown out of the need for ties.
