I'm running out of avenues to complain about EGO customer service so I'm trying this thread.
I have an issue with the battery. It's clearly a defect and I need to return it for a warranty exchange.
I've been trying to get a hold of someone at EGO for two weeks now but no such luck.  They give you an option to call back and then call you 6 hours later or next day when you're at work.  Emails are also not returned. Absolutely unacceptable.

If you have the desire to put a claim into court you can document all the things you have done with copies of your emails and the dates and times that you called, and explain clearly what the problem is.  Then, send EGO a REGISTERED letter that they have to sign for.  In the letter clearly outline the problem in detail and what you expect them to do under the conditions of the warranty.  Request that they reply by a certain resonable date.  If after that date you do not hear from them you can wait a couple of days, then file a claim in small claims court against the company.  You should have all the material ready to defend your position.  When EGO receives the notice to appear in court they may contact you to resolve your problem out of court.  That could be very good for you. 
If you do not hear from them then you will have a chance to present your case to the judge and one of their representatives will do the same.   When I took a case to small claims court the judge allowed the other party to question me and I got to question them.  If you speak the direct truth, do not get emotional and have all the documents and facts in simple format to show to the judge then you are most likely to win your case.   In my case I received full payment plus interest over a two year period.  My case was not against EGO but an appliance dealership.
This is only one possible avenue to address your situation.  Good luck.

The issue is resolved and EGO customer service has provided a replacement battery, thank you Amber for elevating this and making it right!
