What kind of runtime can I expect out of the 5.0 Ah battery? I have a lot of acreage to cover.

30-60 days unless you use the turbo

I’m concerned more with the cut capacity. I have multiple batteries and there’s some very thick material to cut through.

Does it have a good hair catcher or do they go everywhere?

Probably everywhere.  Ego should listen to all the customers requesting a mulching vac.  Would make post nose trimming cleanup a breeze.

Thats why I keep insisting they include the side-discharge attachment along with this. Can't keep cleaning the sink everytime I use this.

Yeah, it's best to do it in the front, or back, yard.
