Hey, Blue, I'll bet you'll like this!

I've been meaning to post this for some time now, but wouldn't it be awesome if EGO made its own electric cars? Methods of transportation. Just put 25 batteries on a grid piece, slide 3 grids into each of two ports, and go! 63 kWh with the 7.5Ah. ...well, I want a little more than that, but when the technology for 1000kWh with a setup like that is here, EGO supercar! Power beyond belief!

I think we'll see an Ego edger long before we'll see an ego car! :-)

But since we are talking cars it's interesting to note the issues early Nissan Leafs had with battery pack degradation. In hotter climates their battery packs were being abused due to poor thermal management despite using extremely high-quality cells.

Outdoor power equipment, in my opinion, is a similar scenario and the reason I bought into the ego line was because of the thermal management built into their battery and charger system. I firmly believe the competition's products will suffer untimely demise under harsh conditions where the Ego products would perform unfazed.

BTW, has anyone seen this latest Ego versus Echo video? This really shows the advantage of the Ego thermal design: Hot packs right off the tool charging properly and performing repeatedly.

But you also predicted we would see an edger before a snowblower...

That was SCDC. :-) However, the fall of 2016 is a ways off yet, lots of time for an edger announcement.

I'm going to do that exact test with the Kobalt and the EGO. I'll post the results here. When? I don't know, within the next two weeks.

I'm guessing up to a utility vehicle could fit within the current Ego space. But if that were ever to happen, you would probably see a gradual progression of propulsion features and technologies. Maybe a self-propelled mower, then a ride-on tractor or zero-turn, followed by a larger tractor/utility vehicle.

Interestingly enough Polaris is pushing the envelope for street-legal recreational vehicles that are not quite cars (and come with about a thousand disclaimers about missing safety features required on all cars) which are classified like motorcycles in most places.

If Ego ever did venture into this space, I'd love to see some co-branded products (Ego-powered John Deere tractor, Ego-powered Polaris ATV, etc). But I think most here would gladly settle for just a self-propelled mower!

Stick a trio of 20" Ego mower decks under one of those and you'd have the baddest-a$s lawn mower ever!
