So my ego lawn mower almost caught on fire today and something melted the hard casing behind the battery. It flashed yellow so i stopped and then stated smoking grabbed the battery out. Vary hot mind you but i didnt want the lithium battery casing to crack and get exposed to air... Bought it almost 2 years ago... Hope ego helps me out been a good mower up till now. I was mowing slightly damp bermuda grass but nothing crazy. I was scalping the yard so it was on the lowest setting and was side venting but i do have the early mower deck so it clogs every other pass...

Wow. I would grab a few pictures of the damage and email them to support@egopowerplus.com

If the mower deck is melted and the internal electronics are fried I would think this is beyond a repair situation... see what they say. As long as you bought it from an authorized retailer and registered it you'll be covered under the 5/3 year warranty.

Oh, and follow up your email with a call. They've been so busy this year that they've fallen behind on their email inbox a bit. A call will guarantee you get the help you need asap.

Mine looks exactly like that and was smoking. The 1st person I talked to said not to put any more batteries in the mower and they would send a replacement.. The phone support said they would send me new batteries and a new mower. I got the batteries in like 4 days, but I have been waiting almost 2 weeks for the mower. I had to call back friday and they said there were no notes to replace the mower and then they promised to send a new one. But they said the delivery would still be up to 10 days from friday they did not offer to expedite.

So when you call, make sure they actually order your replacement mower. Ask for an email stating they will be sending you a new one so you have documentation in case they forget to add the notes to your account.
