Some questions...
Which charger is it? The somewhat bulky, gray, rapid charger or the less bulky, black standard charger?
Which battery? (Not too critical, but just additional data)
Do you have more than one battery? If so, does the other battery charge fine in the charger?
Do you have more than one charger? If so, does it seem to work fine with the suspect battery?
How old/new are the battery and charger?
When you say power to charger, does the fan come on briefly before attaching the battery? Might have to unplug and plug the charger back in to verify this.
Are you seeing any sort of flashing lights, different color lights, on charger or battery when trying to charge the battery?

If all else fails, give Ego CS a call at 1-855-EGO-5656 (1-855-346-5656) from 8:30AM - 8:00PM EST (Monday - Friday) & 10:00AM - 6:00PM EST (Saturday & Sunday). Best to call early in the day to avoid long hold times.

Black standard charger,. 2.5 ah battery. March 2016. No second battery. No second charger. Nothing happens when battery attached. No fan, no lights, nada. Have tried unplugging and plugging back in. Battery gives me Red light when I push button. Suspect bad charger.

The charger should power up momentarily when you first plug it in; the lights should blink on and the fans should ramp up briefly. If this is not happening, there’s most likely an issue with the charger.

Usually a battery problem is indicated by a red light on the charger when it’s inserted and/or an erratically flashing red light on the battery.
