I just unboxed my EGO 530 and charged the battery but as soon as I connected the battery in the house it starts blowing air and I didn't have the trigger pulled so I am not sure is this how it works that it automatically turns on or do I have a defective unit? I don't see an on off switch, it works great but I would assume since there is no on off switch that the trigger controls the on off.

Yes, when the trigger is fully released he unit should be off. I would try playing with the trigger to see if it was just stuck, and make sure nothing is pressing it down when you put the battery in again. If that doesn't work then make sure you have the receipt and call Ego.

If you just bought it at HD and have the receipt, I wouldn't even bother calling, just return it for a replacement.

Same problem out of box and right after charging, powered up when charger was inserted, but would not turn off. Will return it. Very disappointed.

Well it is unfortunate but just exchange for another at HD. It is a great tool. I just got mine a couple months ago and it has been working great.

Hello Barb, I went back to Home Depot and exchanged it. It is an awesome blower, you will love it once it works properly!
