Issue with rear wheel height on max setting

The height adjustment on the lawn mower does not seem to be aligned. On the highest setting, the front wheels are at 2.5 - 3 inches while the rear deck of mower is at 1.5 inches.

In the Atlanta, GA summers, it scalps the Bermuda grass even on the highest setting damaging the turf and leaves a yellow lawn. This annoys me due to the fact that it is an expensive investment, has very good battery power and portability but does not perform as expected when needed.

I am glad to own this mower and I also recommended it to my neighbors who were almost ready to buy it until they saw the yellow patches and bought a gas powered one, JUST because of the cutting height issues.

Anyways, I was asked by the customer rep. to take it to the HD service center but honestly I do not feel they are technically good at repairing it. I had to show them how it usually works and they also damaged the dust cover on the height setting while trying.

The mower is under warranty and I need to know whether this is a known issue with the rear wheels height adjustments which I can repair by myself or do I still give it to the HD guys and be blocked for 3 - 4 weeks (as per the service center guys).

The lift mechanism is damaged. There is a bent rod inside that may have been over bent. It needs repair. This can happen if the rear wheels are repeatedly banged or too much pressure is applied to the rear.

Basically you can take the required screws off to access the area on the left, or send in for repair.

Answer this first.

Does the height change at the rear wheels when you change the height setting?
