Yup, hit that button too quickly... I own a mower with battery and charger. I need a String trimmer and edger. Is Power Head + STA1500 + ME0800 the optimal combination?

If you are willing to use your heavier mower battery (7.5 or 5.0AH I assume) on the power head, you can buy a tool only power head + edger for $129 at HD online.

After that, you can either add on the string trimmer attachment (for $109), OR you can buy a separate string trimmer. [I was able to get a great deal on the new carbon fiber string trimmer kit with a 2.5AH battery and charger, so this was the route I went, but right now HD isn't running that special.]

Upsides is that the $129 bare tool deal is the most economical way to get a power head & edger attachment and you don't have to pay for another battery/charger.

Downside is that a 7.5 or 5.0 battery weighs more than a 2.5 AH battery, so the overall tool is heavier, and unless you have a REALLY REALLY big area to edge/trim, is a bit of overkill for the job.

My understanding is that the Power Head + STA1500 weights a bit more than Ego's dedicated string trimmers (and is a bit more powerful....not that I've felt the need for more power than the carbon fiber one has....). There is also the issue of rotation direction, which some people have a strong opinion about.
