Edger combo versus buying Separately

Im having some confusion.  I need an edger and want the power head base so I can attach other tools in the future.  Home Depot is selling a powerhead plus edger bare tool for $129.  Then they are selling the Ego Power Head tool (no battery or charger) for $149.  Whats the difference between the two bases?   If I bought the items separately it would be way more expensive than the combo kit, or is there something I am missing.  Thanks

Jared, you are not missing anything.  Get one before they adjust the pricing!  It is a fantastic deal at $129 and is the exact same power head that is sold for $149
I got one recently and it is great

Enjoy !
I also got the hedge trimmer attachment which is great for tall bushes.  No more climbing on ladders

Agreed, I bought the powerhead just for the hedge trimmer attachment, but bought the cheaper package deal with the edger and have been happy with it as well.

Jared, combos is the best way to get the head and an attachment; just like in restaurants where combos are cheaper than ordering ala carte. To confirm, read the model numbers in the listings; there's only 1 power head that EGO has. Pretty much the same when it comes to batteries; cheaper as part of a kit than by itself.

I did the same - bought the combo Power Head + Edger and bought the separate pole hedging attachment. I have no intention of using the EGO Edger attachment because I still prefer my gas Echo stick edger.
