E go Battery flashing red repeatedly, fan powers up on charger and then quits, tried a new charger and no different. It's clearly less then three years old, but when I spoke to the rep she asked for my proof of purchase which I don't have.  Now what?

I just had the same thing happen, but mine is only a year old. Go back to where you bought it and they may be able to pull your receipt, Home Depot did it for me. Good luck!

My 5AH battery did this today; charger cycled on/off quickly (clicking), with green light flashing in sync; battery light was flashing red quickly. When off the charger, the battery light would not light at all. I have 2 standard chargers, and it did this on both chargers. I couldn't find a satisfactory explanation in battery or charger manuals. I decided to leave it on the charger (still doing the weird on/off thing) for a few minutes, then swapped chargers, and it began charging normally. It took a full charge and seems fine now, so all I can think is it had become extremely discharged.

Update:. Ran the battery today (16" chain saw), no problems.
