brand new out of the box - fully charged batteries - picks up snow and just dumps it out of the shoot - doesn't throw it more than maybe 8". Customer Service was zero help, returning to HD!

No matter how good or expensive a snow blower is, it nearly impossible for it to throw anything under 3 inches simply because it relies on momentum to launch the material any considerable distance. For this reason while i have an ego snow blower (and can't wait to use it!) for lighter dustings I usually use a 36" push shovel (picture attached). Its MUCH more efficient and easier to use on anything under 5-6 inches. Any good handy man knows a tool is only as good as it's intended use. A snow blower is simply not designed for very small amounts of snow. Wait for a decent fall and i'm sure you'll be going back to HD to buy it back lol

Is the blade on that metal?  I've been looking for something like that but most of the shovels at the stores are flimsy, plastic crap these days.  I want a good, sturdy pusher like that.  My dad had a good one when I was a kid.  It was angled so it rolled the snow to the side.

No just impact resistant abs i believe. Used it last year without a problem no cracks. But again it's a light snow pusher not a plow. You gain in clearing width what you lose in height do anything over 5 -6 inches basically is too much. That's when the blower comes out....

I have a pretty good SHOVEL but after three winters the design flaws came glaring through and it's not as effective as it once was.  I'd like something like you got.  Did you buy it local or online.  I see some similar ones on Amazon but not that model.
