Official Response
No the trimmer is a stand alone tool and does not have removable parts.

The EA0800 edger is part of the multi head tool group and works with the power head PH1400

There is also a stand alone edger tool. ME0801

I think you mean the ED0804 Edger standalone? :)

ME0801 is the PH1400 w/ EA0800, BA1400 and CH2100.

You are correct Nate - I mixed them up in my original post

ED0804 is the stand alone edger
ME0801 is the powerhead PH1400 w/ the edger attachment EA0800 plus battery and charger

To explain further, the standard trimmers have their motors down at the bottom of the tool, whereas the edger and the power head system have their motors up at the top of the handle, with a driveshaft running the length of the handle.
