Do wheels lock on LM2142SP if I don't use the SP?

I have read complaints about the wheels locking on self propelled egos.  If I don't use the SP feature, will the wheels lock?  One thing I like about my non-sp is how maneuverable it is; wouldn't want to lose that.

The roll back safety lock does not engage if the SP is not being used.
It only engages when the SP system is in use and it is  soooo simple to work with.  Just disengage the SP one step before reversing.
I agree. It feels a little weird at first and you get used to disengaging before turning so you don’t drag the wheels and leave marks, but it’s a quick learning curve. The SP is heaven for me and my sloped curved yard. So worth the extra $

This feature was also on my previous Black and Decker 40v SP mower; once I realized it and got used to it, it was easy to release the SP before pulling back.
