Wish I knew the answer to that question, but when I bought my 21" SP mower back in April it was marked down $50, then got HD's military discount. Saved me $100. Love my EGO mower. Have since added the back pack blower and just received the Power Head Unit Kit (edger and trimmer). EGO yard tools are the real deal. USAF Retired

So no issues with "striping" from the mower?

Chris, as Tom mentioned, the mowers were on sale this past spring. That's the only sale I'm aware of, other than the 10% off HD deal with their credit card.

I never noticed any sale last winter on Ego products.
As to your second question, striping. I don't have any striping "issues". Keep that blade sharp.

I got/get some what I call "Mohawking" in my lawn, but overlapping my cuts a few inches more and slowing my speed has all but eliminated it. As far as the speed, I have COPD so w/o the gas fumes from my old mower I can get out there get some exercise, so slow works for me. So it takes me about 30 minutes longer to cut my lawn than before.

I've always overlapped the cuts even with a gas mower. It's the way I was taught and makes sense to be able to raise the grass in the wheel tracks to cut that grass.  Note that I don't use higher than the "3" setting on my Ego. Yeah, I'm a fairly slow walker when mowing. But, I think for the same reasons. Just to be sure to get good suction and cutting.

Thanks. I'm probably going to get one it's a question of when. I ran my gas mower out of oil and the engine stopped. I quickly filled it then started and it's run fine since but.... My only concern with the EGO was the 'mohawking' comments I've read and people saying the blade needs sharpened like every other cut.

I've sharpened mine once in the year I've had the mower. Granted, it didn't get used during the winter, but it's seen plenty of use the rest of the year.
