Official Response
Summary: Ego's official answer would be to only use the bar and chain identified in the manual.

Details: The Oregon Powersharp system uses a vastly different bar and chain combo.  The Ego (and many electric chainsaws) use the 0.043" Micro-Lite narrow-kerf cutting system.  The Powersharp is a 0.050" system.  The Ego uses the Oregon "A041" motor mount bar configuration.  And if the 12" bar kits you have are the same style, it is possible that you could get them bolted on; however, you will VOID you warranty by doing so.  The most important piece, the drive sprocket, is not designed for the wider chain.

Conclusion: The Oregon Powersharp is an innovative invention with some great benefits, however, the Ego chainsaw system is not designed to use it (nor any other bar/chain).
