Have 2 new Ego tools and the batteries smell like rubber burning while charging. Do they all smell like this or only when they are new?

None of mine have ever smelled of anything. But, that's not to say they couldn't. Just mine haven't.
Do you have other EGO tools where the batteries didn't have an odor? Or are these your first 2? Both smell? On either charger? The odor aside, do they seem to charge and function fine?

These are my first two and I just noticed the smell while charging them in my kitchen.
Might just be that new charger/battery smell?

Burning rubber or just warm plastic?  Mine had a slight new charger smell, but nothing dramatically offensive.

Have not noticed any smell at all on a 2.5 amp or the 5.0 amp batteries and they are both very new. Could it be the charger fan itself having a bit of factory grease or residue ?

I'm going on my third year and from day one have smelled an electrical type smell from the chargers (not batteries). Others have had this issue too.
