Did I do any damage? (New to all this)

I bought the mower (first in years) and attached the bag and starting mowing. When I was finished I noticed that there was an insert in the grass (the mulching insert). I didn't even realize it was there. Only did this once. Just wanted to know if I caused any damage or not to the mower or anything? or is this just a lesson learned kind of thing, cause everything still seems fine. thank you

That insert is shipped installed in the clippings opening at the back of the mower. You need to remove it if you are going to bag the clippings. Did it seem like the mower wasn't bagging very well at first when you started mowing? It seems as if the mulching plug came out at some point. Fortunately it's designed in such a way that it can't fall out to the underside of the mower and get hit by the blade so it must have come out in the direction of the bag. Not sure how you didn't see it.
If there doesn't seem to be any problem with the mower, then all is likely fine. Does the mulching insert look beat up at all?

I just thought it was part of the back. I read about it afterwards that I had to remove it which is why i’m a little concerned. No it seems the insert is just fine, mixed in with all the clippings. Mower seemed to work and collect just fine.
Thanks for the reply.

Agree with mike you should be good to go.  Sound like the mulching plug just blew into the grass bag - no harm done.

Have had other people complain that the bagger doesn't work only to find they left the plug in and it stayed put during their mowing.

Happy mowing and welcome to the forum.
