The chain saw worked great for about 30 minutes, then it threw the chain. It seems the metal washer on the end of the sprocket falls off and then the chain "derails", (you also have to find the washer somewhere on the ground where it landed). There does not seem to be any way to keep the washer in place except if the side cover were close enough to prevent it from dislodging, which does not seem to be a very precise method, especially if it wears away the plastic cover where it is spinning against it.

This picture from the manual shows an "e" clip holding the sprocket in place. Is it possible the clip popped off and needs replacing?
