Commercial Lease Option

Since the very first time I powered on the Ego mower 15 months ago, I have been thinking that this is the first electric mower that could make an Eco-friendly all electric landscaping company viable. I still spend most of my time pondering the logistics every time I mow the lawn. I am very sure there is a market for such a company in the Atlanta area, and no doubt even more so in other cities.

Of course the up front cost would be huge, but not really so different from other landscaping companies, such as installing a sprayer tank and pump in a truck to hold fertilizer. The only hurdle I can't get past is the number of batteries that would be needed per vehicle to basically keep 1-2 operating continuously all day. And pretty quickly the cycle life of the batteries will require regular replacement.

It seems like if Ego offered a battery lease program or some sort of captive financing, this would make commercial use a viable option. No matter how great a lawnmower is, I am never going to buy a second one. But being the first company to create a market for electric commercial landscaping—that would be huge.

This is why supporting a creative forum is such a benefit to a company... they can just watch the ideas roll in! :-)
